For the past three years, calls for transition and change have reverberated across the region. The people of the Middle East and North Africa are faced with similar challenges - weak democratic institutions and processes, high unemployment, underperforming economies, and water scarcity. USAID programs will continue to respond to the needs and aspirations of the people in the region, by facilitating more inclusive economic growth, supporting democratic processes, strengthening civil society, and addressing other key challenges, such as the impact of the Syria crisis.
