The Fisheries Development and Management Project is a follow-on project to the Fisheries Development Project (FDP). Under FDP, programs were established in statistics, extension, marketing and research. Evaluation of FDP's impact on the organizational capability of the Ministry's Directorate General of Fisheries (DGF) indicated the need for continued, long-term cooperation in the fisheries sector between the Ministry and the Joint Commission.
