In order to expand paddy production, several measures have been undertaken including the introduction of high yielding varieties of paddy seeds, introduction of modern technology . and expanding the areas under irrigation. The major component of the project works consists of the construction of a river regulator and canals. A demonstration plot was also provided to enable the farmers to observe the new irrigation system and for the introduction of HYV of paddy seeds.The benefits from the project would be from the net incremental benefits as a result of, higher net returns from irrigation.
