A mission of experts examined the present status of irrigation and irrigated farming projects in Gambia with national officials, drafted an appraisal of the first program, analyzed prospects and compiled the necessary materials and data for the design of the second program. Specifically the mission analyzed the main problems encountered in light of experience gained on existing perimeters and to reveal the constraints which are slowing down development of irrigation, make concrete proposals, and identify studies and projects which are available.
