Drought, inflation, population growth, and limited food government capacity have led to chronic food insecurity and water shortages in Ethiopia. Several staple crops have failed and USAID has committed assistance for: disaster risk reduction, health, nutrition, water, sanitation and hygiene, and a measles campaign with the assistance of a number of partner organizations.
