Chile's water resources have been extensively contaminated by municipal and industrial effluents. USAID is funding feasibility studies and providing loan guarantees for up to four demonstration projects to show how private initiatives can solve the water quality problems of such communities. The report discusses the design of these demonstration projects and the priorities according to which they should be selected if all cannot be funded together.
