This report details the results of a 12-month field study of the fisheries and fish biodiversity of the Kavango and Caprivi Provinces of Namibia. It is divided into 10 chapters: an introduction; a discussion of the biodiversity of the Kavango River; a description of new exotic fishes from Namibia; a discussion of the development of the conceptual basis of an index of biotic integrity (IBI) for the Kavango River; a description of the Kavango River fishery; a discussion of biodiversity and the fishery of Caprivi province; a discussion of Namibian aquaculture; a summary and recommendations; acknowledgements; and a consolidated reference list. Recommendations regarding specific aspects of the fishery are made at the end of each chapter. (Author abstract)
