Several factors impacting the upcoming maize harvest that are preventing farmers in IDP camps from preparing land for the long-rains planting season. The number of hectares planted during the upcoming season estimated to fall 25 to 30% below normal levels. IDPs are remaining in or moving into camps due to perceptions of ongoing insecurity in pre-crisis homes, despite decreased threat of violence.
