The LRMBS Program is a four-year program to improve water management in the Litani River Basin in the Bekaa. It is undertaken by IRG, in cooperation with LRA, and is funded by USAID. The program began in September 2009 and has four components: Building institutional capacity, Water monitoring, Irrigation management and Risk management. In order to help support the activities of the 'Institutional Capacity Building' component of the Litani River Basin Management Support (LRMBS) Program, IRG contracted Information International to carry out a quantitative opinion survey to assess the level of recognition of a recent LRBMS-sponsored water awareness campaign, as well as the level of knowledge of residents regarding water issues in the Litani River Basin.
