National Aeronautics and Space Administration
The goal of the Natural Disaster Program is to use NASA's capabilities in satellites, airborne, surface observations, higher-level derived data products and modeling and data analysis to improve natural disaster forecasting, mitigation and response. The NASA Disasters Program supports satellite-based activities that provide disaster information to improve forecasting, mitigation and response. Current projects include a global flood monitoring and forecast system and a Mekong River Basin flood prediction system.
