A number of water supply systems installed under USAID/Yemen's Small Rural Water Systems Project have been found, according to some reports, inoperative less than a year after the completion of the project. USAID and the Confederation of Local Councils for Cooperative Development (CLCCD), interested in assisting local councils and rural villages in improving the operation and maintenance of their water systems, have proposed corrective action under an activity to be funded under PL480 (Title I).
