Summary of a Philippines workshop on fisheries and oceanography which had its principal aim as accelerated production of food from the sea. Fish is second only to rice as a food source and is of great nutritional significance. Attention was called to the government's rice policy as a model and as an approach to be taken in development policy for fisheries.
