The USAID mission in San Salvador requested WASH assistance to develop a rural water supply program for El Salvador. AID will consider other local types of water technologies subject to an analysis of ease of implementation. The mission was proposed that technical assistance be provided through a three person team for two weeks. The scope of work includes assisting in determining feasibility and scope of a water supply program for rural and some urban areas, provide goals for source development and improvement, assess alternative water supply technologies, determine community and institutional capabilities to maintain supply facilities, develop a preliminary project design, assist in determining the need of drilling equipment, identify consultants, and prepare a draft report.
