This document is a research proposal on swim bladder inflation in physoclistous fish. Existing laboratory and hatchery techniques for the larval rearing of many marine fish (mullets, tubot, croakers, sea-basses) and some anadromous fish (striped bass) have resulted in low survival rates prior to metamorphosis. Most of these fish belong to the Physoclistous which are very important to commercial aquaculture in both developed and underdeveloped countries.
