The Southern Zone Water Management Project aims to increase cereals, mainly rice production through improved water control and management in the Ziguinchor and Kolda regions. The project grew out of the need to address the loss of cultivated rice lands to saline and acid conditions, due to the combined effects of tidal flooding and reduced rainfall. This is the final report for the project.
