Objectives of Ihe program included improvement of the trainees' listening proficiency to a level at whichthey could understand simple conversations and short lectures on topics in areas of interest (includingaquaculture). This improvement was measured at the end of the training period by the Michigan test auralscore as well as the in-class evaluation or the communication seminar (convetsation class) instructors. The project's objectives for oral developmont was that trainees become competent in participation in conversations regarding daily routines, simple discussions on topics of interest, handling requests for information and materials, making suggestions for improvement in their program, etc.
