The ongoing political turmoil and frequent natural disasters in Haiti, such as the earthquake of 2010, have significantly affected food security and livelihoods, which have in turn affected the nutrition status of the population. The country has seen limited progress in reducing malnutrition in the last decade, and has high infectious disease rates.
