Covid-19 has greatly impacted water utilities and the delivery of safe water services. The pandemic poses a variety of threats to utility providers who are needed more than ever. Utility companies face declining revenues, reduced availability of crucial materials for maintenance and repair, and a lack of short- and long-term investment in service expansion and capital expenditures. The World Bank and Global Water Security and Sanitation project offer a variety of resources and programs to help organizations deal with the effects of Covid-19. Multilateral partnerships in engineering, finance, and water governance can help utility firms safely delivery vital water supplied to those in need.
