The direction of the Environmental Policy and Technology Project was initiated to provide assistance to the Central Asian Republics in fostering regional cooperation in the Aral Sea region. Assistance is administer under the auspices of USAID with a focus to provide: potable water and public health education; and technical assistance and training to support regional cooperation in water management.
