Energy
According to the U.S. Department of Energy, present day water and energy systems are interdependent. Water is used in all phases of energy production and electricity generation. Energy is required to extract, convey, and deliver water of appropriate quality for diverse human uses, and then again to treat wastewater prior to their return to the environment. Resources available in this sub-theme include reviews of diverse technologies and information on alternative energy sources such as biogas and solar, as well as other energy and water resources.

Solar Water Heating Systems Overview
International Association of Plumbing and Mechanical Officials
We are increasingly using renewable energies instead of fossil fuels to do more around our homes. Since the early 1900's, people have used the sun to heat water and in today's environment of high fossil fuel costs an average family can save up to 80% of their water heating bills by...Read more
Geothermal Systems
International Association of Plumbing and Mechanical Officials
With an increase in the number of installations of geothermal systems, a more robust understanding of how the systems work, proper installation, and the code requirements governing those installations is required. This seminar provides attendees a basic overview of how these systems function and...Read more
Interfacing Solar Thermal Systems Into Hydronic-Based Comfort Systems
International Association of Plumbing and Mechanical Officials
This seminar will take the attendees on a schematic tour of old system piping/plumbing/controlling technologies and strategies, and the way they were piped, and what we've since discovered wrong with those installations. After we've seen what's wrong, we will modify the system...Read more
