This 11-minute training video provides an overview of drilling zones 1 and 2. After an appropriate site for hand drilling has been selected the drilling begins. During the drilling process, several different geological zones will be encountered: top soil, dirt, dry sand, sand & clay mix, clay and water saturated sand. Note that the goal of the process is to reach an appropriate depth in the water bearing zone.
