This report holds the tone that as the Millennium Development Goal (MDG) era draws to a close, there is a growing consensus among sector professionals that, for the first time in history, this longstanding goal of universal access to safe drinking water, sanitation and hygiene is now within reach. It will not be easy, but with sufficient political commitment, innovative partnerships and integrated approaches, underpinned by sound financial investment, it could be achieved by 2030.
