A corner stone of NASA is to provide open and free access of their data for both research and applications. The NASA Earth Observing System Data and Information System (EOSDIS) is a key core capability providing end-to-end capabilities for managing NASA's Earth science data from various sources - satellites, aircraft, field measurements, and various other programs. Of particular interest to the World Bank are includes access to critical land images and products such as from Landsat with NASA MODIS data (land cover, vegetation density and production, surface temperature, etc.). A summary of Earth sciences data and services are available through NASA's Global Change Master Directory.
